Course Content

Throughout this course, participants will be gently guided through an exploration of what it is like to really BE in the present moment, and be aware of what happens when we function in the autopilot mode. Becoming aware of what is happening in the body and mind moment-to-moment, and how we react to events are key themes that thread through each session.

We begin by considering a phrase often repeated by Jon Kabat-Zinn, “As long as you are breathing, there is more right with you than wrong with you.” The message is that no matter what challenges you are facing, they are workable. The present moment is the only time that matters to grow, perceive, learn and transform.

As a group, we delve into the subject of perception and conditioning, with particular emphasis on the appraisal and assessment of stress. Understanding our biology helps us to accept who we are and only then can be begin to transform.

All sessions are highly practical; your facilitator will gently guide you through each activity and practice so that you are ready to do the work at home. Home practice is an essential part of this and all our mindfulness courses as this is where the real ‘work’ is done. During each session there will be opportunities to share you experiences of the home practice and hear other people’s, often the same, often different to your own.
