Finding Peace in a Frantic World
Start the academic year with an intention for self-care. This introductory course is an ideal place to start your mindfulness journey. It is highly practical where you will learn skills that will enable you to start to weave mindfulness into daily life as a support for your own health and wellbeing.

Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
The Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program was founded in 1979 by Jon Kabat-Zinn and is seen as the flagship of mindfulness-based courses. The formal and informal mindfulness practices are designed to cultivate an awareness of the way that the mind and body connect for health and well-being with the overall aim of reducing stress and anxiety.

3-Phase Program Supporting Teacher's and Student's Wellbeing
This 3-Phase program supports those new to mindfulness to develop their own regular practice, to begin to teach mindfully and understand how to teach mindfulness to students
Phase 1: Waking up to the present moment
This introduction to mindfulness takes you through an explorative journey to discover what is happening in the body and mind moment-to-moment.
The focus is on learning to pay openhearted attention to different aspects of your internal and external experience, and you will begin to develop skills to ground yourself throughout the day.
You will to discover what it means to teach mindfully, and understand how mindfulness practice can improve students' concentration, relationships, self-esteem and general wellbeing.
4 weeks x 90 minutes

Phase 2: Flexibility in the present moment
Throughout Phase 2 you will be extending your interpersonal mindfulness practice, developing capacity for further self-regulation as you are skillfully guided through an inquiry into the effectiveness of your own coping strategies, and exploring alternative approaches.
With an attitude of curiosity and acceptance you will discover how you react to experiences in-the-moment and probe; what power and responsibility do you have in affecting change for your own health and wellbeing?
As you embody the qualities of mindfulness in the classroom, you will develop an understanding of how to safely introduce mindfulness to your students and explore a range of age-appropriate activities that will ensure their experience is positive.

Phase 3: Keeping your mindfulness alive
In Phase 3 the focus is on cultivating an attitude of acceptance, compassion and empathy towards yourself and others.
A friendly analysis of your life-style choices, and gently probing their effects will help you to define your own unique and sustainable path towards a healthy mind and a healthy body.
You will have opportunities to practice teaching age-appropriate mindfulness activities to your students between sessions, to reflect on and share your experiences the following session.
